Taboga y Uraba Wildlife Refuge

The Taboga y Uraba Wildlife Refuge is located in Panama Province, on the islands of Taboga and Uraba in the Gulf of Panama. It was created in 1984 protect the nesting sites of migratory birds such as pelicans, paticuervos, tijeretas and gulls, particularly during the months of December and July. It is also an important nesting site for several species of marine turtles.

Adding to the attractiveness of these islands is the multitudes of flowers that can be found here, such as papos and taboganas roses, veraneras, white and pink gallitos and lilies, among many others.
